ELECTED OFFICIAL
Representing Jackson, Mason, Putnam, and Roane Counties. Responsibilities include addressing constituents’ interest, legal, research and analysis of issues including tax structure, infrastructure, business friendly environment, insurance, etc. Serve on Finance, Transportation, Agriculture, Banking and Insurance, and Economic Development committees.

2002 chosen as one of 40 emerging state leaders from across the nation to participate in the Henry Toll Fellowship program sponsored by the Council of State Governments. Participate in interviews with candidates of the program, evaluations of applications, prepare and submit recommendations to the Committee.

2003 One of three Legislators of the Year for the West Virginia Municipal League.

2005 National Appointment as Co-Chair Agricultural Committee- Council of State Government. Assist in developing and executing agenda for a committee of State Legislators from across the nation. Research in several areas of Agriculture with a concentration in diversified and emerging technologies and deliverables. Submit and deliver committee reports to the Executive Officers and Board of Directors.

2005 Named Legislator of the Year for the Vocational Technical Association in West Virginia and for the southern district which includes 13 states..

Senator Karen Facemyer was hired on July 1, 2006 as Executive Vice President of the Polymer Alliance Zone®, Inc and was named President on October 15, 2006. Her initial duties concentrate on building PAZ through its unique partnerships among businesses,
education and government.

ELECTED OFFICIAL

Responsibilities included addressing citizen interests, legal issues and budget requirements. Served on the Government Organization, Health & Human Resources, Industry & Labor, Finance (minority vice-chair), Agricultural & Natural Resources and Political Subdivisions, Veterans Affairs, and Banking and Insurance committees during the 71st, 72nd, 73rd and 74th legislative sessions. Additionally, have served on several interim committees at the request of House Leadership. Excellent working relationship
with fellow legislators and the leadership of the House and Senate and Governor's office.

1993-present Jackson County Chamber of Commerce: Charter member of this business focused organization. I served as Vice Chairman and Chairman of this group dedicated to a positive American business community.

1993-1999
2003-2005 West Virginia Mountain State Art & Craft Fair (MSACF): Served 3 terms on the Board of Directors, Executive Board and as Vice-President of Education and Entertainment and Vice-President of Publicity and Promotion. Assist in the planning and execution of the largest event devoted to the promotion of the art & craft industry in the State of West Virginia. These fair sales are over $750,000 and attendance is well over 35,000 annually.
